McChrystal’ Highland Ice
This snuff delivers a moderate clean menthol blast. Its moisture is slightly higher and its grind is finer. It is easy to take with little-to-none bite. I believe that this could very well be an everyday snuff for menthol fans. I highly recommend.
Bernard’s Zwiefacher
Smokey, sweet, cake-like, woody, meaty, savory and very slightly cooling all at the same time.
There are richer, sweeter Bernard’s concoctions, but none with more satisfyingly complexity than this. Very long lasting and an appreciable nicotine hit, unlike some schmalzers which are lacking in this department. Very enjoyable!
Bernard’s Magic Moments
Strawberry is the VERY first thing that you notice. It has a very nice, subtle smoky aroma to it compared to a mentholated snuff as well. Also worth mentioning, this product has a nice nicotine hit to it. A very good product that I highly recommend to anyone out there that loves strawberry’s.
Schmalzlerfranzi Original
This is Bernard’s flagship product. This is the schmalzler by which all others must be measured.
Doppelt Fermentiert means ‘double fermented’ presumably that means it went twice to get extra flavoring. It is quite sweet and has all of the sweet flavors others have mentioned, namely maple and dried fruits. Its very rich and although course, its quite soft. It does not cause much nose-burn. Very full bodied, strong but not smokey tobacco flavors. Excellent.
Bernard Postillion
Posillion is being made by Bernard exclusively for Snuff and More, a German online snuff retailer. It is recognisably a Bernard Schmalzler, coarse, moist, dark and fruitier than some, but not as much as Regensburger Pris and having a significant hint of whisky. Very tasty indeed. I got mine from my local tobacco shop, so perhaps Postillion is quite as exclusive as originally intended!
